Ryn and Sawyer met in the Spirit of Gold marching band at Vanderbilt University. Ryn was going to see if Sawyer was a good match for one of her friends that was interested in him.

Then she realized that she was actually interested in him! Their proposal story is no less exciting! During the last home football game at Vanderbilt University, Sawyer got some of his band friends to play a version of their song. He proposed in front of the entire band and both of their families!

They wanted a casual wedding that would be fun for all of their guests. Ryn had always dreamed of getting married in a barn and fell in love with Cactus Creek Barn. Their wedding was on a perfect autumn day since fall is Ryn’s favorite season. They wanted to highlight fall colors with their décor by adding lots of reds, purples, and greens. On all of the tables Ryn placed little pots of succulents that she had grown herself, and hand-painted mason jars.

The most important thing to Ryn and Sawyer when planning their wedding was the food that they served and the location. They both have moved to Tennessee from northern states and were very excited to show off a part of their new home by serving BBQ at their wedding. The couple had a candy bar during their cocktail hour as a fun alternative to traditional favors. They also used the money that they would have used for favors to instead make a donation to American Humane. Ryn made sure that she had her something old and something borrowed. She carried her step-great-grandmother’s handkerchief down the aisle and wore her grandmother’s pearl necklace.

The couple’s favorite part of the day was when all of their guests moved out to prepare for their sparkler exit. During this alone time Ryn and Sawyer were able to spend a few quiet moments together. The best advice that the couple received was to cherish every moment of their wedding day because it truly goes by so fast. Ryn and Sawyer knew that this was definitely a day that they didn’t want to forget a single detail.
