Allison and Scott are self proclaimed “Vegas People” who have a love for a great time. Even though they were conscious of their wedding budget they were able to take their classy styles into East Texas for a beautiful red and navy wedding full of special touches like, Bundt cakes, wedding favor coasters, a staircase wedding entrance and a secret last dance.

Scott was the very first guy Allison met in college; and a year later, POOF.. they were dating. Fast forward to last December where Scott proposed to Allison after a fancy Vegas dinner compete with the photographer from the restaurant hurrying over to catch the moment and the waiter putting on "Can't help falling in love with you".

Scott asked Allison to marry him and she couldn’t help but roll the dice and say YES.

When Allison started looking for dresses the day after their engagement she found a beautiful high neck gown and added a stylish Vera Wang belt to really put it over the top. She admits that “She is not like other brides”, and was able to find her dress online and head right to the store to try it on and buy it, one dress, one try on. She really isn’t like most brides, huh?

Throughout the planning process both the bride and groom to be wanted to make sure that they were conscious of the generous budget that Allison’s parents provided, but since she was one of three sisters, she wanted to make sure to not go over the top.

Allison decided to scale back on the wedding’s overall cost by cutting back on floral arrangements, and doing a DIY lantern, wood disc and mason jar with baby’s breath combo on each table instead. They also hand made their wedding favors to not only make them a more personalized gift, but to know that the money they spent on them was worth it, since they were items that they felt would, “get used again” after the reception was over. They also filled wine bottles with fairy lights, incorporated homemade signage and are excited to be able to use all the DIY items after their wedding, or recoup costs by selling the items to other couples that are in the planning process. Sweet and sentimental doesn’t even begin to describe this couple though.

Allison incorporated her Grandmother’s Opal ring, and her other Grandmothers’ sets of pearls given to her mom and sisters. But, wait, it gets sweeter: The icing on the cake was the way they integrated 200 mini Bundt cakes into their reception as their wedding cake, since neither Scott or Allison care for cake very much. They were able to order several different flavors of the tiny cakes to and were happy to not have tons of wasted cake left over.

In the end, we really love Allison’s advice of, “Don’t get caught up in price. The most expensive does not mean its always the best. I was able to find everything I wanted within and even below my budget. Also don't be afraid to DIY your wedding, the majority of our wedding was DIY and it was amazing.” Now that’s a safe bet.

Congrats Allison & Scott, we know the odds are in your favor.
