Outdoor Inspired Styled Shoot

We are always looking for hidden gems that not many people know about. When you think of New York, you might think of busy streets and tall buildings or of farm houses surrounded by nature. However, tucked away in a corner of The Inns of Aurora, New York is a stunning historic site the locals loving refer to as “The Ruins”. Every time you’re there, you can’t help but dream of the stacked stones and imagine what might have been. LoveWell Weddings wanted to utilize unique and local elements to transport you to place that separates wedding details from their traditional environment.

The inspiration behind this styled shoot was to not only create a look that blends the trends of now, but to also celebrate a timeless elegance that is as imperfect and wild as the surrounding stones. The flowers were inspired by the textures and depth of colors that you would find in an old European painting. The pops of reds, ivories, and greens against the neutral walls make for a gorgeous array of color. This stunning bouquet arrangement was the perfect compliment to the bride’s gown!

We are swooning in love over this gorgeous lace wedding gown. The long train makes a statement in any type of setting, but is truly dramatic against the harshness of the ruins. The sweetheart bodice with the sheer neckline has become a popular trend and we can’t get enough!  It combines the traditional elements of a modest bride, while also maintaining a chic style for the trendsetters. The groom is handsomely featured with a twist on the classic suit by incorporating a subtle pinstripe instead of opting for a solid color. Completing the outfit is a purple bow tie that is sure to be a major hit with your groom! In order to keep the couple from being too traditional, the bride’s look is completed with a more modern and dramatic hairstyle and makeup.

Every detail is important when planning your wedding, and a styled shoot is no exception. To mimic the color of the elements, LiveWell Weddings created a tablescape that is a perfect blend of elegant design and the natural elements. These stunning linens looks to have aged alongside the ruins.. The table is illuminated with candles in weathered blue hurricanes and tapers, while the slate chargers and place cards look like they came from the stones themselves. Wire is delicately wrapped around the napkins, making this the perfect handmade detail for the modern bride.

It is not everyday that you come across a hidden treasure like The Ruins, especially not in the midst of a bustling state like New York. The Ruins provide a calmness and a timeless elegance that serves as the perfect backdrop for this styled shoot. It is our hope that you find inspiration and use these stunning details into your own wedding. We know that we will be dreaming of The Ruins for years to come.
