Today's DIY project by JoPhoto is perfect for bride's and designers planning weddings and styled shoots! Some brides may not like wedding cake, but still want a cake at their reception for photos. Or maybe they are opting for cupcakes but still want a wedding cake that will match their color palette. If this describes you, then today's DIY faux cake tutorial is perfect!
I learned this technique when I was designing a photo shoot with Kathleen of JoPhoto. We didn't have time to partner with a cake designer, but we still wanted to have a simple, elegant cake design to inspire brides. Enjoy this unique tutorial, and let us know in the comments how you might use this project for your own wedding or photo shoot!

Georgia Wedding at the Wheeler House
This Georgia wedding at The Wheeler House by Rustic White Photography is everything southern and beautiful. From the early, 20th century home, to the groomsmen’s mismatched bow ties and suspenders, I can’t get enough of all of the charming details! Bride and groom, Erin and Baron, share some sweet details about their love story below. Enjoy all the pink and navy details!
From the groom…
“We knew each other in high school but went into the world and did our own thing. Nine years later we began dating after a friend request on Facebook. After only dating nine months, I asked Erin to marry me when she returned from a business trip. She spoiled all my surprises. So she had to settle for a quiet back porch proposal. We picked the Wheeler House as our venue because it fit our style and taste. As a tribute to our grandparents who could not join us, we did a tribute to them in a glass window with...
Brown and Beige Fall Color Palette
It always amazes me how beautiful neutral colors can be, especially for fall weddings! This fall wedding color palette shows how a deep brown, complemented with beige and off-white, creates a stylish color palette that is both rustic and elegant. As much as I love pops of bright color, sometimes a soft, neutral palette like this one is so warm and inviting!

We love quick and easy DIY wedding tutorials like this one! Learn how to make these easy tissue paper pom poms to use for decoration at your wedding!
Watch the video for an easy step-by-step tutorial, then view the photos below for detailed images of the process.
Thank you so much JoPhoto for providing these lovely images!
1. Tissue Paper (the more layers of tissue paper you use, the tighter your pom pom will look.)
3. Pipe Cleaner
Take about 5 sheets of tissue paper and lay them on top of each other. Fold them together in a back and forth motion. It should look like a fan or accordion when you are finished.
Tie your pipe cleaner to the center of your folded tissue paper. This will be used to hang your pom pom when it is finished.
Take your scissors and cut the tips of the folded tissue...

I never get tired of all the different options there are for mismatched bridesmaid dresses! When bridesmaids are given the opportunity to play with different shades and styles of dresses, the possibilities are truly endless. For today’s bridesmaid dress inspiration post, I chose to showcase a few of my favorite mismatched shades of purple bridesmaid dresses. Many of the bridesmaids dresses below are matched beautifully even with various shades of navy and pastel blue!
Various shades of pastel purple and blue create the most stunning color palette. Below are examples of how these shades can be worn together by bridesmaids. When combined, these shades create such a fresh and feminine feel, and I know your bridesmaids will love you forever if you give them a little freedom to be...
What to wear for engagement photos is such a commonly asked question, and we are so excited to have Knoxville wedding photographer, JoPhoto, to help us answer it! They tell us why engagement photos are so important, what to wear, and a few extra tips on how to have a successful engagement shoot. Enjoy and be inspired!
Engagement photo sessions are usually the first time you work with your photographer. Often, it is also the first time you and your fiance have professional photos taken together. Not only do engagement photo shoots help us build rapport with you before the wedding day, but we also often find that couples are more relaxed about photos when the wedding day arrives because they’ve already worked with us at their engagement photo shoot. You are more relaxed in front of our cameras, and you know what to expect! Because engagement photo sessions are so important, we include them in all...
I love this three-pocket napkin fold because it allows you to be creative with how to display your silverware. I tucked the silverware between the folds with a little floral accent, but you can choose to use this fold even with the silverware placed to the side. It's super simple and adds the perfect touch of class to any tablescape!
