Hi everyone! Today, we are introducing Imani and Aj’s romantic wedding! These 'Elementary Hopefuls" finally tied the knot after a few years of planning their romantic botanical garden wedding which was held in the Renaissance Garden, surrounding them were their friends and family. These two have known each other nearly all their lives. AJ was friends with his bride's brothers. It was not until after getting home from a deployment that he saw Imani like he had never seen her before. With AJ's sisters' blessing, Imani asked him out on a date. Inseparable is not how we can describe this couple, because since that day, they have lived and explored all over the world. Since he asked her to marry him in Paris, France, they got married in a garden that reminded them of that special spot.Imani and AJ both wanted to have a wedding outside while also pulling in some of the beauty from the trip where they got engaged. Renaissance Garden at the Norfolk botanical garden was the perfect fit- cobblestone, fountains, statues, and lots of greenery. They accompanied this with dusty blue as the main color with navy blue, white and hints of gold. The couple really wanted a color palette that felt modern but sort of royal and that is exactly what they accomplished! The reception tables had gold votive candles and small arrangements to make the tables pop.
The bridesmaids wore dusty blue and chiffon dresses but were able to pick their own style from Azazie. The groomsmen and groom all wore a darker blue suit; they added a little flair with a floral tie and pocket square which complimented the bridesmaid dresses. Imani wore a stunning Morilee off the shoulder dress with a long train and beaded floral design and we are obsessed with it!Their wedding flowers were all from something borrowed. They matched the vibe completely with the wedding pallet. That looked real, smelt amazing, and was exactly the style the couple was looking for- modern, simple, but elegant! The cake was a beautiful four tier cake that was ombré from white to blue and gold foil around and let me tell you, it looked delicious! Also, fun fact - Imani DIY’d majority of her signs! All of the save the dates, invitations, programs, plus all of our signs ( welcome, seating chart, guestbook, gifts and cards) - how cool is that?!
