Kathryn and Anthony opted for an intimate destination wedding at Omni Park Grove in Asheville, North Carolina overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains after a memorable road trip they took there years before. Kathryn and Anthony met on a dating app while Kathryn was living in Boston, Massachusetts. Anthony was living in Cookeville, Tennessee and after a few months of a long-distance relationship, Kathryn moved to Cookeville as well. They made a road trip out of the move, which was the first of many road trips afterwards due to their mutual love of traveling.
“Asheville was our last stop when Anthony helped me move before we hit Tennessee and we celebrated New Year’s Eve there. Ever since then, we both have been in love with it. We went there several times after that throughout the years and thought it would be the perfect place for our wedding and for our family to travel to,” says Kathryn.
The couple’s closest friends and family were in attendance on their big day and dressed to the nines. The weather was sunny and the mood was laid back. They had a suite at Omni Grove Park Inn with a balcony that overlooked the grounds and the sweeping mountain views. Kathryn donned a Giovanna Alessandro gown from Couture by Tess Bridal and Anthony wore a gray suit by Kenneth Cole with a burgundy bow tie. It was all exactly how the couple had imagined their special day to be.
“My favorite movie has always been Beauty and the Beast and I just loved Belle’s gold gown. I had always envisioned myself wearing an off-the-shoulder gown, even as a child. This was the first gown I ever tried on and it fit like a glove. It was simple, yet elegant and that was just what I wanted. Even when we had our photos taken throughout the day, it felt surreal. Anthony and I are not used to being photographed or taken care of in such a way as we had on that day. We certainly felt like celebrities,” Kathryn explained.
“Kathryn was a lovely bride, serene and quiet. Initially, she expressed her desire for a more extravagant gown full of lace or glitter. However as she explored Couture By Tess Bridal, she discovered her real bridal style. She realized she wanted something different, sophisticated and unique. She fell in love with the simplistic elegance of Giovanna Alessandro’s design named Carla. Carla’s timeless column silhouette reflected Kathryn’s bridal beauty perfectly with it’s sleek lines and buttery soft imported crepe,” says Tess Mann with Couture by Tess Bridal.
Kathryn credits her wedding planning and budget spreadsheets as the tool that kept the couple on track. She advises other couples to stay organized in their planning process to ensure a stress-free day. Simon Anthony Photography truly captured the essence and emotion of Kathryn and Anthony’s sweet and sophisticated wedding. It is special moments with each other, family and friends that creates a successful wedding and it is evident from the photos and Kathryn’s words that this duo achieved that and more.
