Elegant Duke Chapel Wedding

If you are a lover of elegant and classic wedding inspiration, then you are going to love Kelsey and Sam’s wedding story. The two had their wedding ceremony at the historic Duke Chapel located in Raleigh, North Carolina following their reception at the beautiful Old Lystra Inn located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Kelsey and Sam aspired for their wedding to be very elegant and it was important to them to have a family-centered wedding. They both grew up in Durham and Duke has always been a part of their story. Both of their fathers work at Duke and have always been a big fan of sporting events there which made it special for them to get married there and since they wanted a church setting ceremony, the chapel seemed like a perfect fit for them!

Duke Chapel was definitely a breath-taking ceremony site. The Chapel is constructed of stone and has seventy-seven stained glassed windows that depict biblical characters and stories and to capture all these pictures was Radian Photography. Kelsey wore a stunning yet elegant strapless ball gown dress from Stella York that had layers of lace and she added a long veil to match the elegance of the church.

The reception was followed at Old Lystra Inn,  a historic wedding venue located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Couples will experience an 1890’s renovated farmhouse under towering oak trees on this 10-acre property. If you are looking for a southern charm with great hospitality then this is your place!

Cocktail hour was held in the backyard under beautiful string lights while the couple went and took pictures. If you want to spice up your wedding, Kelsey and Sam had a mobile coffee bar at their wedding from Caffee Bellezza serving pumpkin spiced lattes and a cookie table, perfect for an October wedding! They also had a warm fire-pit with chairs - so what better way to enjoy your coffee and some cookies sitting by a fire?!

The couple added a unique twist to their music. Instead of having a Dj, the couple had a band called Skate Rink Juke Box who did an amazing job and kept the party going! So if you are looking for a unique twist to your wedding you better get yourself a band.

The reception was filled with stunning decor and florals from West Queen Studio. Kelsey wanted colorful flowers and loved how the Juliet Roses were spread out. The bright florals with some greenery were an elegant touch for centerpieces along with lanterns on top of a wooden trunk. It was rustic yet elegant and a perfect idea to make your centerpieces stand out especially with the light blue napkin linens. Kelsey and Sam wanted a simple yet elegant cake which Nantucket Grill nailed! The two-tier cake is the definition of simple but with a twist of elegance. The florals from West Queen Studio make the cake pop out.

Kelsey and Sam ended their memorable and amazing night with a sparkler exit along with sending off a sky lantern. Having a sparkler exit is the perfect send-off for you and your guests. It also makes for a perfect picture! Radian Photography was able to capture every bit of Kelsey and Sam’s wedding and let me tell you, the pictures say it all!
