Happy Monday, everyone! We hope you had a wonderful weekend and are ready to read about Emily and Jake’s wedding story. The couple's wedding was an intimate, boho affair with a touch of rustic southern charm. Everything about this wedding was filled with personal touches and absolutely beautiful. If you are looking for some boho wedding inspo then keep on reading!
Jake & Emily met through their best friend (the maid of honor) who just so happened to be dating his younger brother (the best man). However, Emily did not believe that she was in a place in life where she wanted to be in a serious relationship, but one day her maid of honor convinced her to go on a blind date with Jake, and she said “ kid you not, it was literally love at first sight when I did.” Emily immediately knew that Jake was the one for her, and was already thinking about their future. Emily says, the moral of the story: Listen to your besties, and open your mind to all possibilities. I did that one time, and I found myself a soulmate!
This stunning wedding was held in Cookeville, Tennessee at Bilbrey’s Crossing’s wedding venue and let me tell you, this venue is elegantly unique with some country chic! The wedding was an intimate, religious, boho with a touch of southern charm. The couple was all about having a laid back wedding but making it very personable to them and their guests and that is exactly what they did.
The couple wrote their own vows and had a knot-tying ritual for the ceremony. Emily and Jake did a lot of fun things for their wedding and made sure to incorporate their puppy, country music, hunting, and Jesus into every little detail! Having fun little activities incorporated into your wedding makes your wedding extra personable and memorable for not only you but your guests!
Emily wore a stunning dress by Couture By Tess. It was a unique, classy and beautiful dress with so many details especially in the sleeves. The lace at the bottom of the sleeves gives a southern vintage feel, while the bubble sleeves of the dress give off elegance.
Emily’s wedding florals were giving off boho chic vibes! They were made by a dear friend of the couple, Renea Stover. Since the wedding was in spring, the bouquet was filled with dusty roses and white along with some cool greenery and a pop of pompous grass.
The wedding cake was a rustic yet beautiful two tier, white semi-naked cake topped with some florals that matched Emily’s bouquet. We love seeing this style of cake! It is simple yet elegant and adding some florals to the cake makes it pop more! The groom's cake was special to him because he is a big deer hunter. The cake was a round chocolate cake, with two deers dressed in a suit and a wedding dress.
The couple did a few fun things for their favors which we have not seen before! We loved the idea of them and if you are looking for some wedding favor ideas then these are unique and adorable! First, they sent home bottles of sweet tea that said “a sweet thank you.” Being from the south, they both love our tea, but only sweet of course. They also made a “his favorite and her favorite” candy goody bag. Jake’s candy was Reese’s in an American flag foil to represent his love for the Army, and his favorite candy while Emily’s was Werthers Caramel candies. Last, they did a dog treat bag to represent their Bluetick Coonhound fur baby, June. I mean, how cool were those favors?!
Emily and Jake's wedding was absolutely perfect! The whole wedding was filled with joy and the couple was surrounded by so much happiness and love! They ended their wedding with a memorable last dance and a sparkler exit!
