You should be ready for anything on your wedding day, especially for an emergency! That's why we suggest creating a wedding day emergency kit and have it close by just in case you need it. To be as prepared as you can be, it's best to create two different types of kits. Today, we're addressing your personal kit list which has everything that you should have within your reach. We'll discuss the second kit on a separate blog,  which will be your setup kit or your decorating kit. Your setup kit is more for the person doing all of the decor/setup. The big reason why we have two separate kits is to ensure you are the guest of honor on your wedding day and not lead decorator/problem solver as well.

We always recommend hiring a day-of coordinator, if not a full-fledged wedding planner if possible. If you can't afford a professional, enlist a buddy, a friend, a cousin, aunt, or some sort of volunteer to act as your dev coordinator. There's no way that you can set up everything for your wedding while also be pampered as the bride should be on their wedding day.

So today, let's talk first about what you need to have in your personal wedding emergency kit. The first section we'll discuss is medication. This is going to be by far the most important section! If you, anybody considered a VIP or included in the wedding party has specific medication, make sure you have access to it nearby. Consider having extra on hand and this includes Epipens. Inform other people where that medication is located in case it's needed in an emergency.

The next thing you're going to have is anything that can cure a headache! Trust us when we say, they can hit out of nowhere on your wedding day! Common medication like ibuprofen, Tylenol, et cetera, maybe a variety, anything you know works well and works fast! This is one of the most common things that I get asked for is a wedding planner. 

Next, a first aid kit is always useful as well as hand sanitizer, Tom's allergy relief, and eye drops is a good idea. It's always nice to have extra pads and tampons in the bathroom! This should include other toiletries like extra deodorant, mouthwash, and flossers. If you're going to be doing hair makeup on-site, have your makeup professional leave you a little bit of extra makeup, especially lipstick for some coverage. Other requests I see include lotion, Q-tips, and breath mints. That's totally up to you, but it's always nice to have. Remember, the goal is to need none of it, but when you do need it you'll be relieved happy it's close by.

Next, if you're thinking about beauty products, always make sure that you have fashion tape, eyelash glue, Bobby pins, hairspray, a hairbrush, safety pins, and a sewing kit. When you're buying safety pins, get those extra-large safety pins! They are incredibly handy in case your bustle breaks. Unfortunately, bustles can be expensive but I see them break onsite often! Without a safety pin large enough, you're left dragging your wedding dress around on the dance floor for the rest of the night. 

These next items aren't essential but you can throw in there just to make sure that you were extra prepared. This includes a Tide pen, eyeglass wipes, hair bands, Kleenex for your ceremony, and a lint roller. It doesn't hurt to also pack a little bit of blue ribbon in case the bride forgets her special something blue.
