We’re excited to highlight this outstanding Knoxville Wedding Officiant: Radiant Gatherings!
When asked what makes Radiant Gatherings different from other similar services she said “I started my career as an interfaith chaplain who then became a wedding officiant (I'm still a chaplain). In my first career, I was an artist and writer. I bring these elements together at Radiant Gatherings to create unique, custom ceremonies along with a strong base of calm presence for couples and families on their big day! Couples can expect meetings over coffee, tea, where we’ll be talking about your wedding, how you met, your lives together, what you want to say about your love. We'll look at some ideas then we start the process!! It's very laid back. I'm flexible and will work with you to find the perfect ceremony for your wedding. We'll write it, find it, or research it!”
We asked Tracy what her favorite part about the wedding industry is, “There is so much!! Wonderful professionals that share their wisdom and vision. Marrying couples who love each other and traveling to amazing locations. My favorite part is that moment at the end of the wedding when the couple knows they are about to be pronounced married and they take that in-breath...then everyone starts cheering!!”
We always ask our members to share advice and tips with our couples and this week is no exception! Sandy wishes every couple would consider “Look for professionals in every area - officiants, photographers, venues, planners. It will make your life and your wedding so much easier!! Successful professionals have an established system in place, for instance, I double check everything with my couples - especially time, weather and locations (an absolute must for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park).
What were some of her favorite weddings so far? We’re curious too!! “Very hard to choose one - there have been so many with wonderful photographers, some weddings out in the field at Cades Cove, hippy weddings. I recently officiated a couple who were cosplay folks that Leah Moyers photographed. Religious, secular - I love to blend cultures and write original ceremonies. I perform many secular weddings which many couples ask for now. I married many couples right after the Marriage Equality law passed in the Supreme Court. A lot of these couples had been together for 20 or 30 years and were now able to be with their heart partner. Now finally, LGBTQ couples can marry and plan weddings in their own time. I officiate a lot of handfasting and nature-oriented weddings in the park as I have my CUA permit.”
Radiant Gatherings has been marrying couples for the past six years. Reverend Sandy Tracy is an interfaith non-denominational minister and officiant who started in the wedding industry when another officiant connected her with an established wedding service that needed ordained ministers to officiate in this area. She finished her chaplaincy and was thrilled to get started!
Radiant Gatherings serves not only Knoxivlle but also surrounding areas in East Tennessee such as Gatlinburg, the Smoky Mountains and more!
